In 2011, a client from Ogden, Utah contacted me, told me he had seen my turkey feather paintings, and then asked if I could paint something on a moose antler shed. I told him I had never painted on a moose antler, but i would be willing to try. Luckily, he had faith in me, or was willing to take a chance! Being he didn’t know exactly what he wanted; a moose, a grizzly, or a bald eagle, I sent him a few sketches to help him decide. This is the end result!
A client sent me two turkey wing bone calls, commissioning me to paint a turkey on each one. He didn't provide me any other description. These calls are made to bring in the male turkeys, so I chose to paint one male on each call; one strutting and one calling. I then added a single turkey tail feather, painted on the middle section of the call. The calls were then matted and framed in a shadow box.
